How should I approach teaching postures in my class for the practicum if I'm hindered by a personal injury or condition?

There's an abundance of asanas to select from, so we recommend picking those you can comfortably teach and demonstrate. Remember, accurate and clear cueing is more important than demonstration.

You might consider having a student demonstrate the poses that are challenging for you because of your own physical constraints. As they display the posture, you can guide the class with your verbal cues and adjustments. Sharing the reason for not personally illustrating certain postures can be helpful, as some students might relate to your situation or have their own limitations. Always be ready with alternative poses or modifications using props to ensure everyone remains engaged and included in the practice.

For online classes, you can demonstrate a posture up to your comfort level, then verbally guide students through the finer details.
